Moving to VSU-TV

If you noticed that I stopped blogging for a while (thanks for noticing) and here’s why:

This fall I took a position at Valdosta State University to teach in the Mass Media Department. It’s a dynamic department with great faculty and growing resources. One of the best resources is VSU-TV – a local access channel for the community of Valdosta, GA and surrounding areas into Florida.

What I have been wanting VOD Indie to become is a resource where people find learn about Independent Film and the numerous VOD outlets to watch movies which didn’t exist before. You may buy kitty litter, video games and 50 Shades of Grey through Amazon — it has also become a rare resource where filmmakers can make a movie, post it, and suddenly be in people’s living rooms through a Roku box or some other device.

With the wonderful students at VSU, we’ll be producing a regular television edition of VOD Indie but we’re going to need your help. If you have a film that’s currently available On Demand somewhere, please contact us with your trailer. If you have a site that LEGALLY streams or downloads independent films, contact us! If you would like to do an interview with our students about either one of those….contact me directly!!!

This is a project I am very passionate. We’ll get back to posting links to great movies and clips for the show here and through our twitter – @VODIndie

Thank you all,

Jason Brown
